On the Two Ways: Life or Death, Light or Darkness: Foundational Texts in the Tradition (PPS)

$20.00

In the teaching of the twelve Apostles (the Didache), we are instructed that, "There are two ways, one of life and one of death, and there is a great difference between these two ways." From this it is evident that early followers of Jesus understood that before each person's life was a clear choice: follow the path of goodness or follow the path of evil. Characterized through various metaphors, this tension is conveyed in a number of early writings as a choice between life or death, light or darkness, even truth or deceit.

On the Two Ways offers various depictions of the two paths by featuring a selection of texts from across the centuries. Each documented rendition of the two ways is presented with a preceeding an introduction, to allow readers to see each motif in its historical and literary context, ultimately demonstrating that this choice remains one which continues to confront all Christians even today.
